Cannot uninstall secure lockdown 'System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation'

Hi,

I purchased some licenses for secure lockdown and activated the software I already had installed on some Windows 7 Pro desktops. Now even though the secure lockdown software is disabled it still seems to be blocking some options. For example the 'log off' option is greyed out for all users. and internet access on one of the PC is blocked. So I decided to uninstall and re-install but when I try and uninstall I get an error message saying 'The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.' <OK> .. It's like Secure Lockdown is running under some back ground process for every user?

I've disabled all anti-virus software...

Any ideas?

Thanks

Steve

If you deleted a locked down account (with another admin account), the System Lockdown > Machine Level lockdown options will still be applied. Try enabling Secure Lockdown, and then disable it again. That will release the Machine Level options you selected.

Thanks, that's allowed be to uninstall Secure lockdown. But now if I open up IE I cannot access any websites as I get a 'Content Advisor' popup saying ' Content Advisor will not allow you to see this website. This page may contain some or all of the following: This page does not have a rating' I've reset/restored all the IE settings back to default but I still get the same issue...??

Thanks

OK, now something very strange is happening.. Even though I've uninstalled the secure lockdown software, now when I login and a local user my desktop is locked down, with no menu or desktop icons.. Its looks like secure lockdown hasn't uninstalled? How do I get this user account back to normal? do IU have to delete it and re-create the local account?

Thanks

It's likely that you uninstalled Secure Lockdown using the non-locked down admin account while it was enabled under the other locked down account. You could just delete the locked down account and create a new one.

I have the same issue.  Single user, with SL disabled, but I see the same message.  I have tried enabling/disabling the software, but same result.
