Enable Alternative Hotkey

I am trying to enable the alternative hotkey (Alt F9) by following the instructions in the Administrator Guide and added the EnableAlternativeHotkey DWORD in the registry. However, when I try to use the alternative hotkey (Alt F9) it does not work. Only the default one works (Alt Shift S). Is this because I am running a trial version or is there something else I am doing wrong?
