Windows 10 Start Menu/Cortana reset when unlocked

Hi all -

Here is an interesting conundrum that I have just run across and am hoping someone can help with.

For the last few years, I have run an HTPC based on Win 8.1 Pro, Kodi (Isengard 16.1) and used Secure Lockdown Standard to protect the rest of my network. This configuration has worked flawlessly all this time; however, this weekend, I finally bit the bullet and did a completely clean install with Win 10 Pro (replaced the HDD with an SDD. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers and applications, made sure everything was exactly the way I wanted and then downloaded the 2.0 version of Secure Lockdown Standard and installed it.

Everything works fine, but when I disable the lock on Secure Lockdown and restart the system, my Start Menu has been played with (missing/wrong placement of icons), and Cortana - which I turn off and hide - is back in place on the start bar... I have also found there are a few other settings that are messed with. I then take the time to reorganize and reset everything, start Secure Lockdown and when turned off - it's magic! Everything is messed up again.

Nothing seems "broken" per se, but would like to have my stuff stay the way I set it before I engage the lock; any suggestions?

Snaps to display issue -

Before locking when everything is set

After unlocking when things are "poltergeisted" around...

Thanks!

Secure Lockdown does not save the state of any user adjustable Windows settings when it is enabled. Secure Lockdown will set some of those settings, but will not be able to revert them. You could save a restore point before enabling Secure Lockdown which will accomplish what you need.

So, just as a clarification - why wouldn't it be able to revert the settings it is modifying when locking? This wasn't an issue with previous versions of Windows, so I am just curious what the change was that would initiate this behavior...?
