Control Panel, API, Desktop, C drive, Multiapp vs Standard

We were using the trial version of Secure Lockdown (standard edition) to see if it would work with our software. Here's some background information:

-we are using Windows 7 as the operating system.
-the software we make is installed on a PC and shipped off to a customer (PC is used only for this software).
-we wanted to lock down the PC with Secure Lockdown so the customers couldn't accidentally break their system by going somewhere they shouldn't be.
-We have a disk/flashdrive that is inserted to enter a sort of "maintenance mode" where features which are usually hidden are now visible so updates/alterations can be made (operator gets full use of desktop).

We are testing out Secure Lockdown with our software but are running into some problems:

1)We can't access control panel features launched through our software (for example, the printer setup page) even with all the checkboxes unchecked. Other things like the default 'Calculator' app in Windows can be launched from within our software no problem. Is there a way to get access to control panel features?

2)Is there any API to enable/disable/launch Secure Lockdown? Or an API to change the internal settings (checkboxes) of it? (We would prefer the end users not know the password/mess with the settings themselves, so we'd rather have a script of some kind do it.)

3)Why does the desktop come up blank even when "No Desktop" is NOT checked? The background appears but that's about it. There's no taskbar, no icons, and you can't right click on the screen. (We need this available for the maintenance mode.))

4)Is there a way to make the C: drive available in file explorer (which can be launched from within our program), and not only through the open/save dialogs? (We need this available for maintenance mode.)

5)We just installed the trial of the multiapp edition since it has more options (showing taskbar/desktop icons/start menu), but it doesn't have a master application, so nothing seems to auto-launch and too many things can be accessed. Is there some middle ground between the multiapp edition and the standard edition?

Thank you,
Ana

Regarding question 1., please refer to the Administrators Guide included with the installation - specifically, the Hidden Secure Lockdown Features > Enable Control Panel section.

Regarding question 2., Please refer to the Administrators Guide - specifically the Using the Command Line section. You can also register Secure Lockdown with our free remote management services to change Settings remotely (without disabling the lockdown software. See our RMS product page for more info.

Regarding question 3., you will need Secure Lockdown Multi Application Edition if you want to display the Taskbar, etc.

Regarding question 4., The C drive is available to programs, but not to users. You can however allow access to other drive letters/partitions (see the Windows System Modifications to Consider > Create a Separate Hard Drive Partition section of the User Guide). Also see the following forum post: http://services.inteset.com/boards/topic/932/how-to-move-windows-10-library-folders-to-a-new-drive. Also, for maintenance, you may want to just disable Secure Lockdown, perform the needed maintenance, then enable Secure Lockdown again.

Regarding Question 5., you can lock down Multi-app to the same level as Standard Edition but still have the Taskbar particularly if you use the Circle Dock launcher. There is no app monitoring, but you wont need it since the user can always re-launch an application if it is closed.
