Using Secure Lockdown - Chrome Edition with Chrome Portable

Working in the health Industry, we're required to keep a particular version of Chrome in order to stay in compliance with some proprietary software.

However, as Chrome has been updated, we've had to revert to a portable version of Chromium as it's nearly impossible to keep Chrome at a particular version.  The portable version doesn't get updated.  Trying to launch our Secure Lockdown software is displaying the following message:

The Chrome browser is not installed on this computer.  Secure Lockdown requires that this browser is installed before continuing.  Please check the User Guide for application requirements.

This is somewhat expected (due to missing registry entries and such,) but as this is a unique situation, we're wondering if it's possible to bypass the requirement to have a "traditional" Chrome install.  In other words, is it possible to use Secure Lockdown Chrome Edition with a portable version of Chrome or Chromium?  We have already purchased hundreds of licences we have used for our initial deployment (before being required to run an older version of Chrome.

Let us know if we have any other options.

You should be able to get this to work by creating a Windows Registry Key entry in the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\chrome.exe

The "Default" Name (String) value should be the path of the Chrome.eve (ie: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe")

Add a "Path" Name (String) and add the path (ie: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application")
