Trial ends when chaning vm settings

I am doing some test on a vm xp with trial lock down. After changing the number of processors to the vm the lock down software goes to -1 days to expire. it has being installed for less than one day.

is can I purchase the product the license will pop up and tell me is not licensed any more because of a virtual hardware change?
