Unable to enter text in password boxes using touch keyboard

Hi,
I am running an application called Cirqa Client for a college library. when logging into the client the touch keyboard appears when entering username to login, but as soon as you tab to the password field it disappears so can't enter the password. Same happens  once in the client when you want to switch borrowers. Any ideas?

It seem as though pressing the tab button performs a different function than expected (moving to the next field). Can you use the cursor to move to the field instead? Note that the tabbing function is not controlled by Secure Lockdown, so this issue isn't likely related to a Secure Lockdown process.
