Hi,
I have an huge problem with lockdown software: I have installed on the PC the version 2.00.045 and I activated the trial version. I have set the software as I usually do (I want launch my software at the startup), but the first time I launched the software, the lockdown crashed (Image1) and my software didn't start. If I press Alt+Tab (Image2) I can see that the software seems that is already open, but I can't choose or see it.
The problem is that I can't do anything now: I've tried to disconnect the windows user (Image3 and Image4), tried to start windows 7 in safe mode, but I can't disactivate the Lockdown. I can only turn off my pc if I press the power button and I can't do anything else because it start again with the lockdown activated that in a few seconds crashes.
Any ideas?

You are using a very old version of the software. Please download the latest version from HERE for your testing. Also, when testing, it is recommended that you have a second administrative account on the PC so that if there is an issue, you can easily recover by recreating a new admin account and deleting the one with an issue.

Currently, you'll need to re-install the OS to recover.

thank you for the fast reply, I'm very happy to read that I have to reinstall the OS...

Can you tell me what I should change or search in the regedit? Any others parameters about the user account?

It is unclear what you're asking regarding the Windows Registry. Regarding the user account configuraton, the User Guide makes recommendations on features of Windows that can be optimized when using Secure Lockdown.

I suppose that your software change some parameters about the windows user in Windows Registry...no? Can you tell me which parameters your software change? With safe mode with prompt maybe I can repair the situation.
If this sofware can have the power to lock the PC and makes it useless I think that an advise should have put also in the software, not only in the guide, isn't it? Or create a recovery point..

You will not be able to access the Windows Registry in Safe Mode. It is possible to restore from a Windows Backup if your backup media is run from a DVD. By default, you can't access the Windows Backup or Restore Point functionality when the system is locked down... The issue here is that the Secure Lockdown is crashing making the configuration tool un-accessible. Normally, you could just unlock the account using the configuration tool with a few button presses.

I'm able to start the PC in safe mode and I can open the Windows Registry, but I don't know which parameters your software have changed. I tried to recover the PC with the recovery tool of Windows 7 installation CD, but nothing changed.

Yes, accessing the Windows Registry is possible with the version you have, however, providing you with registry information is not feasible and would not solve the issue as Secure Lockdown goes beyond the registry to secure the account. You will need to reinstall the OS at this point to recover.

Ok, I will reinstall the OS if you tell me that in Windows Registry you don't change anything.
I'll download the latest version and I'll pray that the correctly licensed product that I already have with the old version will not crash as this PC.

This issue is happened again as you can see on this video (http://www.tecnobody.com/temp/lockdownlockedmypc.zip) After I've locked and unlocked the PC with Lockdown 3-4 times without problems, now I can't do anything.
Last time you told me I had to reinstall OS losing windows and lockdown license, I hope to hear a different reply this time because is not costing me only money, but also time...
