Support Team,

We are having a issue when testing using your application to access our secure site.
The site works fine when the Secure Lockdown Internet Explorer Edition is disabled.

Once we enable the application and have added it to the allowed sites it goes to the website no problem but when trying to login the error failed to initialize java applet does not allow anyone to login because it cannot detect java.

Any solution to enable Java when using your application?

Adding Java to the background apps does not work either.

The site is https://fxonline.riaenvia.net/External/Login.aspx

The site you mentioned has been tested on a Win 8.1 64bit system with IE 11. No issues were found and the Java Applet ran fine. Be sure that you have the latest release of Secure Lockdown running. You can download it from here.

Ok the Build we are using now is 2.00.082 which I believe is the latest.
We are using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and IE9 can you test?

Make sure the Java applet is fully installed and IE does not need to re-load it each use before locking down the system. Be sure to "Allow" all access to the applet by default.

Ok that may be an issue since it needs to call to the applet every time the website is visited for authentication.  Anyway other way around this?

We've downloaded the applet it calls to and added it to the background applications to run but it still fails to initialize.

We did not use the Background Apps feature. It works every time with our setup. Please list the Secure Lockdown settings you have enabled.

This is our current setup:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
IE9 - With all settings turned to low for testing and still java applet failed to initialize.

Secure Lockdown v2 - IE Edition Build 2.00.082

System Lockdown Settings NOT Enabled:

No Fast User Switching
No App Install
No Desktop

IE Lockdown Settings NOT Enabled:

*Browser Options
No New Window
No Open Dialog
No Printing
No Downloads
Private Browsing

*Layout Options - Kiosk Mode Enabled

Allowed Sites:
https://fxonline.riaenvia.net
https://fxonline.riaenvia.net/External/Login.aspx
http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se

NOTE: We've tried both Disabling and Enabling allowed sites and still the same issue with the java applet failing to initialize.

Background Apps NOT Enabled

Thanks again for trying to help us get it to work with our application we are trying everything we can to get it to work correctly.

Some other things to note is we even tried disabling all options and still the java applet failed to initialize once we enabled secure lockdown with all settings disabled but when we run in normal os mode it works fine.

With your settings, it is still working. Please make sure UAC is disabled and any antivirus. Make sure the java app is pre-loaded so the browser does not need to fetch it. Can you try IE 10?

We followed those steps and it is impossible to pre-load the java application since this java applet .jar is used to verify the users login when trying to login to the site.

We even ran a packet test to see if the .jar file is being sent through traffic and it is not showing up at all which seems like with Secure Lockdown enabled it is being blocked.

When you say it works with our settings if you input any information into the login box and push enter it will fail. If the applet is working it will say incorrect username please contact support etc is that the message your getting?

Please advise.

Yes. We get 'login failed'. We tried thus on a Win 7 64bit system as well and it's working as you've suggested. Have you tried on a different machine.
