Logon from VNC viewer to PC locked by Secure Lockdown

We need to periodically log on to a PC running the Secure Lockdown software.  We are using TightVNC Viewer and can connect with no problem, if I press the alt + shift + S combo the password window appears.  If I try to enter the same exact password as I would locally on the machine another popup appears saying "The password entered is not valid."

Any ideas on why this will not work?  I have the VNC Server application configured in the background apps tab.

make sure the cap lock and number lock are consistent when using VNC or not.
