We have Secure Lockdown running on a Windows 8 touch screen at a retail store. Despite repeated requests, the store keeps turning the power off on us overnight and I need our touch screen to automatically restart once the power is restored in the AM.
I purchased an APC uninterruptable power supply and have found instructions on how to set our computer to automatically restart when it senses power has been restored to the line (there are apparently BIOS settings for this on more modern computers) and the UPS has software that will talk to our computer and shut it down properly when they turn the power off at night.
My question is about setting up Secure Lockdown (Chrome ed) to work with the power shut down and restart of the machine. Are there any settings I need to change? From the manual it looks like I need to uncheck the box for No Shutdown and I'm thinking maybe if I set Secure Lockdown to automatically restart every day at 6 am that should take care of getting us back up and running every day without sending someone out to the store.
Is there anything else I need to do to make Secure Lockdown play well with the UPS software (called Power Chute)?
Thanks!
