Windows 8.1 Metro Search Options

I am currently testing the Lockdown EE software with Win 8.1 (which I say we should be using Windows 7 for this task)..

But after I have done my best to lock down the Metro screen it is still accessible with the "Start" key and the user can then search for "files" and find anything.  They can then open notepad, write something destructive and save it as a .bat or .cmd file to the desktop and then run it since they have admin rights (this is the way I would circumvent the machine!)

Any solutions to disable the Metro screen completely?

Are you running Secure Lockdown under an Administrator account (not a Standard User account)?

I am running it under an admin account, as a previous post explained that it had to be an admin account!

Please send the Secure Lockdown settings file to techsupport@inteset.com. You can generate the file by going to Help > Export / Import.

You have the option "System Lockdown > Local Level > No Desktop" enabled. This removes the standard Windows Shell (explorer.exe which is responsible for the Desktop and Modern UI interfaces) and replaces it with Secure Lockdown. This must not be occurring with your setup (it is working as expected on a couple of our lab systems.) Anti-virus software or a Group Policy rule may be preventing Secure Lockdown from applying this configuration.
