I am loosing laptops like flies right now.  For some reason we are getting laptops returned that have nothing but the background showing and when I try Alt-Shift-S nothing comes up and I can not exit the Secure Lockdown program.  This is basically rendering the laptop useless and if I reimage I lose the license (I cant un-register).

I an running the most recent version of Chrome Secure Lockdown on Windows 8.1.  I only have the one user account on the laptop.

this could happen if you have Windows Updates enabled. You should always have 2 admin accounts set up on the system. Otherwise you will need to re-image the machine to recover. If you need to re-image, contact techsupport@inteset.com with the order number of the license purchase and we will deactivate the license so it can be reused.

So, you are saying that I need to disable the windows updates.
Create a separate account on the laptop that also has admin rights.
Send you my order number for the licenses and you will deactivate the licenses?

How do I tell you the correct license to deactivate?  I have 411 licenses.  Will you just randomly deactivate 12 of them?
Until I can get a new image out to my field staff with the above modifications, what if I have more that exhibit this issue?  Will you deactivate those for me as well?

The most recent release of Chrome Lockdown is 2.00.121. Is that what you're running?

Here are the instructions for recovery, but you need a 2nd admin account:

Yes, we will be able to deactivate those for you.

Disable updates in Windows 10?

Please confirm as I also experience similar issues upon disabling & restarting most recent SL MAE v2 edition.

I found a 3rd-party guide (link below) but always on the cautious side of following this type of advice.

The simplest way to disable Windows 10 Updates is to just disable the Windows Update Service as mentioned in Method 3 in the article.
