I'm using secure lockdown to turn a Windows 8.1 tablet into an e-reader essentially. It opens a PDF and stops the user from doing anything they shouldn't. That works well.
A client asked if they could use the search functionality within Adobe Reader as their particular PDF is quite large, containing a lot of technical information. This is no problem, except the tablet obviously has no keyboard. So I proposed to use Windows' On Screen Keyboard (OSK / osk.exe), which they were happy with. But I can't get it to work.
Initially I tried adding osk.exe to Secure Lockdown's Background Apps tab, but that did nothing. I then decided to use a Batch file to open osk.exe and the PDF, and the command runs without error but the OSK isn't displayed when it is in lockdown mode. It is displayed when using the Test button out of lockdown mode. This makes me think one of the options in the Secure Lockdown software is blocking the OSK from being displayed, but the only one which seems relevant is that which stops Ease of Access and unticking that made no difference.
Any ideas?
